Me: "Ok, what's something we have done since we bought the house, that we didn't know how to do before we bought the house?"
Kenny: "Anything."
So, we decided to start this blog for several reasons. First of all, we feel like we are sailing uncharted waters in a lot of arenas of our life these days, and thought it would be cool to write about it so someday we could look back and laugh about that time we forgot to switch the gas bill to our name and woke up to a freezing cold house and no hot water. Or that time we remembered we had gas heat in the first place--you mean it's not electric? Woops.
Second of all, Kenny has a freakish catalog of sports knowledge and trivia in his brain. This should probably be documented for the world. Or at least shared and explained to me who typically has no clue what he's talking about.
Third of all, we have a new puppy, Riggins. Named after Tim Riggins (not John Riggins). We're trying to teach him to bark in response to "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts...." Well, realistically we're just trying to teach him to stop chewing everything in site. We'll work on introducing Friday Night Lights later.
Fourth of all, we feel like we are pretty young to have taken on the responsibilities we have quickly assumed over the past 9 months. From marriage, to homebuying, to puppy rearing, our life together so far has definitely had its share of hard work! But, through all of it, even the yardwork, we really try to remain joyful and hopeful, and always look to see God's grace in every little detail. We have careers, we are making a nice home, and tolerating a puppy, and above all practicing our Catholic faith in all of these aspects of our life.
I'll leave it with a comment from Kenny: "I mean you're not Bill Simmons...no need to write Crime and Punishment here. Who really cares. Dude, community associations are whack. [Blah blah blah something about yard sale signs....]"
